Sick....and tired.....and cold

Only a few more days left until Christmas - are you ready??

I still need to buy a few stocking stuffers but otherwise I am *done* (and my credit card thanks me LOL). 

Today ended up being a lazy day, as I ended up catching a cold sometime late afternoon yesterday:

 

 

Had a fever last night, and ended up sleeping a lot today and that's about all the excitement I can take LOL  Sinuses hurt, throat hurts, sneezing, coughing......typical cold symptoms.  I am *not* amused (I am NOT a good sick patient)  I'm pretty sure its because of my recent drastic temperature change: I moved back to Florida earlier this year (grew up there) but lived in Minnesota the past 25+ years.  My kids are here so I came up to visit with them over the holidays.  I went from 70+ degrees to about 4 degrees......and even though I lived here all these years I do not like the cold at all!!!  So ever since I've been here I just cannot stay warm.  You'd think I'd never been here before by the way I'm acting lol

Welcome to my blog!

Hi!!!  Welcome to my brand new Blog - Elusive Designs....

About me....I work as a Business Analyst by day and outside of work I have a ton of interests.  I taught painting for over 12 years (oil, acrylic and watercolor) so you will probably see some of my artwork pop up from time to time.  I was also a Wilton Cake Decorator Instructor for several years but got bored with that; who knows I may take it up again one day.  Maybe. 

For the past three years I've been into quilting - a friend of mine (Kathy) wanted to take lessons and although I had a machine, I didn't know how to thread it much less where to find the power switch.  I'm not joking.  She tried teaching me to sew the summer before and lets just say........it was a disaster.  Anyway after trial and error I got the hang of it and although I still consider myself a beginner I'm able to at least turn on my machine, thread it *and* sew something usable!!! 

So yes.....I love crafts of all kinds LOL  I'm also an avid reader, like to crochet (I'm pretty bad at it), knit (I'm a little better with knitting), love to shop (I *am* a girl ha!), love puzzles, prefer cats over dogs (that story for another day) and try to exercise when I can (which I should really make more time for).  Probably lots more I'm forgetting but you get the general idea ;-)

I have 2 adult kids who I'm crazy about so they may make appearances here as well.  You just never know.  I also have 2 cats and a dog....they'll show up occassionally I'm sure.
